Can the police search homes when only a minor is present?

Okay, here's the situation. My mom and her boyfriend were at a meeting out of town and I was at home all alone. The police came by and asked if a certain individual in was present in the house. I said no, since the door was locked and said individual doesn't have a key. They came in and searched the house without waiting for my mom to get home. Since I'm a minor (under the age of 18), are they allowed to search the home if only a minor is there with no adult present in the home?
