Where can i go to make a free website myself?

I would like to try and build a web site myself. I do not have much experience so I would need help or step by step instructions or some support help on how to do this. I would like to have 20 to 50 pages to help with the search engines and I also need to be able to implement the title and meta tags myself into each individual page. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
