Is it ok to give my dog prednisone and piriton together or should i give just prednisone?

ive got a 9mth shih tzu whos been prescribed prednisone 1mg,i was giving her piriton before but that didnt seem to work,shall i stop using the piriton and just give her the prednisone or use both
